Parry
In-game tooltip: assume a defensive stance to parry frontal attacks, negating damage and recovering Energy on each successful parry. The stance lasts up to 5s or until five attacks are parried, whichever comes first. Shortly after a parry, one input performs a sweeping strike against enemies in front and the other a long-distance dash slash; both branch attacks apply Wither on hit. Shorter base cooldown in trio mode.

When to use it
First slot; core defensive button. The trio cooldown reduction is why it stays slotted in group play as well as solo.
Builds using this
- Withered Knight — Greatsword PvP — Soulgrot explains it at 12:07Defensive punish and damage opener. The training segment at 15:07 distinguishes the light follow-up from the movement option after a hit; the movement option does not guarantee a combo.
- Withered Knight — Greatsword Bosses — TayXDc explains it at 01:00The one skill the boss loop actually leans on — with the super-armour talent, a successful parry opens a free damage window.
What the balance passes changed
- 2026-08-28 · ChangedFixed: the long-range dash attack branched from Parry travelled too fast and could throw the character into the sky. The cross-class constraint system below is the general form of the same bug.
- 2026-08-19 · BuffedCooldown reduced.
Direction is the patch note’s own word, not a verdict on whether the skill is now good. Patch notes and update history.
